This water tower dates from the late 16th century. It was built on the site where a wooden water tower was from the late 15th century. Unfortunately it burnt down.
The current tower has served its purpose until the mid-19th century.
Tato vodárenská věž pochází z konce 16. století. Byla postavena na místě, kde od konce 15. století stála dřevěná vodárenská věž. Ta bohužel shořela. Nynější věž sloužila svému účelu až do poloviny 19. století.

ReplyDeleteLuna Miranda: it is no longer functional, in 1882 they dismantled the device and wanted to demolish it (fortunately they didn´t)
Ann: do you ask where in Prague it is? This Tower is on right bank of the Vltava River, near Manes. The nearest street is Myslikova.
